Im not a painter and ive had the same problem. Average quote ive had is $6-8000. Its a bit of a process but it still makes ne wonder why its so much when ive seen cars straightend and painted in 2-3 days and materials wernt even $1000. I think its just hard work no one wants to do unless they get paid well

Seriously use you tube and do all prep yourself. Spray it in primer till all it needs is paint. Buy all the paint yourself and then shop around. Should only cost 3k to spray. Any more than that then keep shopping. I guess the main message is dont be afraid to learn and do 90% of the work yourself.

Only problem is doing the body work yourself a lot of painters won't paint it.a paint jobs only as good as the body work and no1 will warrant it if some1 else plays with it

One thing I have noticed over the years is the datsun community has turned stuck up. My first username on this site was back in like 2004 so I have been here for about 10 years and datsun people are turning into rotor heads ie: assholes. I noticed the more rotary powerd cars went up in price the more people turned into big head know it all non helpers and on the rotary web sites now if u ask something a bit silly ect people just give u flack for it. As datsuns go up in price our community is turning much the same. People are getting scabby with information, causing crap like flanders , ripping people of, pi$$ing people of so what they can make some extra $. It wouldn't surprise me if its someone very close that we all know in this website. The datsun 1200 community was much closer than it is today. Too bad huh :(

Well unfortunately Darla, Some people like Sr20's- Rotor's etc in their Datto's and some like something more traditional. Some engine swaps are more popular. As for information, I think this is a great forum. There is an abundance of information which covers nearly every topic ( Thats why there is a search up on the left of the page).. But some people are just tooo lazy to look it up, especially basic question's, so from time to time, they get a little bit of flack or I like to say "Construtive Critism"!! And more often than not, is when, they do not provide enough information to the question they are asking, or didnt search for it. We will not even get into spelling and grammar of some memebers. Now for rip-off merchants and pi$$ing people off, there are always a few bad apples. And the members here are not too shy in pointing them out. PS... Rotary's rock
