can some one please explain how to post a photograph into a classified post or into the forum and can you have mobile phone pictures or do the photographs have to be from a digital camera????????

Mobile phones have a digital camera built-in. Pictures can be from any source (scanner, digital camera, etc) as long as they are in JPG or PNG (digital) format. Virtually all digital cameras produce JPG photos -- except for some of the most expensive $$$$ cameras.

To upload a photo to Datsun1200.com, the trick is to get the file size down to 200K or less. That usually means a 1.3 megapixel or smaller image.

Larger photos can be uploaded to a photo web site like photobucket.com, and then you link to it when you post here.

1. Get your photo onto your PC (i assume you are using Windows).
2. open the photo using microsoft office picture manager
3. click on the "edit pictures" button at the top middle of the screen.
4. go to the right of the screen and click on "resize pictures"
5. click on "predefined width and height"
6. choose "web-large(640 x 480)"
7. click "OK"
8. Save

This has now reduced the file size from the 3 megabite or so that you had from your phone or camera to about 100k which is uploadable to the forum.

That works well if you have Microsoft Office. If you only have Windows, you can resize them with built-in Windows apps. Most 1280x800 or 1024x768 pics will be small enough for the Datsun1200.com limit (currently 200k). See My piccie is too big
