Gday guys, a friend has brought a head to me and im not sure what it is! Normally you would see h89, h72 or h75 or something like that, but no markings on this one. Also it has the large chamber as pictured. Smaller than usual oval ports also. Just wondering if anyone as any ideas on what it might be? Cheers

Are you sure it's a 120y head?

Hey datman95,

Do you mind posting up a comparison picture of your 120y head next to a stock 1200 head?
Interesting info.So what are the differences you can see btw the two a12 heads? i.e port and chamber sizes?

cheers

DDgonzal,
So which head does gg-datsun have?
as per the picture you posted, it looks similar to the 120y head/ 74-78 ute head but with larger ports (distance btw manifold bolts and intake ports)? also has holes on top between the intake ports?
What variation of head is it?

Cheers

I think Datman is right -- 120Y head. Which is the same as 1200 ute for the same years. Looks like someone ported it a little bit into oval shape?

ddgonzal,
The pics you posted don't have the holes "on top and between" the intake ports like on gg-datsun pics.Is this dependent on the year model of vehicle?

GG-datsun,

is the head stock or ported? Can't tell for certain by looking so better to ask.

Cheers
