I've got the option of buying one of two heads.. One needs a clean up and the ports have crap in them but it has valves.. The other has been cleaned up but would still need a service but has no valves.. How hard/costly is it to find the right valves for a head vs cleaning up the other..

They're both h89s just want to know the best one to buy as a base

Thanks again

Depends on the condition -- what is in the ports that need cleaning up? It is white oxidation gunk? I'd probably pass on that

How hard would it be to find valves?

Not hard.
Most motor part supply shops should have them. Or find someone with a cracked/soft head and get the valves off them.
Cleaning a head isn't a big job.
Before you get any head skimmed, or seats recut, have it pressure tested, and hardness checked.
