Hi Guys,

Just replaced the clutch cable on my 1200 coupe. After a week I have noticed at the top end of the cable the rubber between the two large washers near the adjusting nuts is being compressed too much and is deforming and tearing. Clutch pressure feels normal. The new cable was purchased off ebay, may have too soft rubber. Anybody else experienced this? Should I try to find a genuine cable?

Cheers.

The rubber is just an isolator/insulator. As long as you adjust the clutch correctly it will be ok

It will deform if the nuts are overtorqued. See Clutch Cable
