Hi guys,
Will a 60A 5 speed crossmember fit a 60L 5 speed dogleg, tryna fit the 60L in a b310.
I've heard all you need is a 20mm shim to take up the slack due to the dip in the 60A crossmember.
Thanks

Yes that’s correct it will bolt in but will be at the wrong height. I put a 60a box into my sunny coupe and it sat too high.

nzdatman - I am assuming this can be rectified by adding 20mm shims between the crossmember and body, therefore lowering the the crossmember. I imagine slightly longer bolts will be need.
Cheers

I've fitted both 60L & 60A 5 speeds using the same crossmember, with no difference in the height. If you use a 60L 4 speed crossmember the 5 speed is too high. As for the 63A, you need an automatic crossmember & it bolts into the rearmost holes, at least with an L series motor. I've used c shaped washers from an R31 Skyline & longer bolts when using the 4 speed crossmember, you can get the bolt started then fit the washers for the correct height.

If I did it wasn't by much. I remember 4 washers & the auto & 60 series crossmembers have 4 bolts. I used standard length bolts, so it wasn't much.

I'll be doing a 63 trans in my B310 at some point. I have both 60 and 63 on a shelf so I'll lay them side by side and see what the differences are.

Yes I would think so, can’t remember the exact difference in height but spacers should work. I ran the 60a in my car without spacers as I didn’t pick up the difference in height initially but when I drove it I noticed the gear lever sat higher than before. Probably not ideal but still seemed to work ok
