Hi guys, new member from Greece.I have a Nissan sunny truck 1200 model 1992.I replaced the original carb which was the Hitachi dcg 306 with manual choke with a propably non original DCZ 06-61 with the auto choke, new carb. The problem i have is that when the car is cold,it gas no throttle. It starts perfect with the auto choke,it runs forever on idle but once you hit the throtle,it stalls. If you manege to start driving,if you press the throttle fully open,it run ok.The problem is the transition from idle to 1/4 throttle. When it comes to normal temperature,it runs like it is EFI,perfect. The problem is until it gets warm.
I have replaced the points, capacitor, spark plug cables, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor.I dissasemble the carb yesterday to check if something is clogged.I found something maybe odd but i am not sure. The low side emultion tube, size 70 is taped on the end while the high side emultion tube, size 60 is open.Is that right?Maybe the manufacturer forgot to drill the low side jet.I was thinking to swap the just to see if it will run right.

What could it be? Runs good when cold. Good while warming up. But not when up to full temperature

The two big things about the DCZ306

1. It is an electronic feedback carburetor. Dunno how it runs without an electric control box. Perhaps overly rich?

2. It is a water-heated carburetor for even temperature regulation (enables consistent emissions). I think it is no problem to run on a dry manifold (without engine coolant running to the carburetor)

Then there is the idle-cut solenoid, but if that's not connected to 12V it will not idle (see Anti-diesel_valve). Or the solenoid pintle can be removed

Or maybe the feedback system is why it stumbles when warm? I will try to think about this ...

Here is a control box from a Sunny with DFC306, factory Nissan ECU controls the electronic feedback carb via input from O2 sensor. For 1990-1994 Nissan Sunny Truck (R-B122). I suspect the Sunny DFC and Vanette DFC units are similar

Thank you so much for the replay. My carb is more simple than the one in the pic you posted.I will upload a few pics at the end of the post.Well i will try to describe a little better how the car runs.It starts perfect when it is bone cold, idling fine, auto choke works fine.It will hesitate some when cold but after it warms up a bit,it runs a lot better. When it comes to normal temperature,it runs perfect, litteraly perfect.Only issue is that it hesitates when it is cold,i assume it has small low main jet,i didn't check it but i will.

Ah, I see. Good to know the DCZ come in normal version too

That triggers a memory of when my car ran similarly. Partial throttle bad, more throttle OK

Is it just above freezing temperature? Say 5C to zero Celcius? If so, the bore could be icing up, so make sure the hot-air inlet is connected to the air cleaner

Althought my car don't have this feauture, the winter-summer function, you might nailed it.Temperature is even lower, yesterday was -6 Celcius with a lot of moisture. If i open the hood, the engine bay is really wet like someone pour water on it..Only early in the morning when the car sits overnight under extreme moisture gives me trouble. In the afternoon, when i return from work, again with low temperature it runs like a clock.I believe there is something related with the moisture, mabye a bad coil?I will replace the coil since these are fairly cheap and i will see.Something else i am not sure about is the timing,i have many years to check it and i still run the points.First thing next week is to buy an electronic module along with an ignition timing pistol detector just to be sure about the timing.
I will report when i will have news.
