Apologies in advance for digging up an old thread, but I would be very interested to know where to get a hard tray cover for my ute.

Either that, or just a flat one would do.

Has anyone purchased one, or had one made?

Cheers.

Leigh

I'd make it yourself....depends on if you want steel or not.... but its pretty easy...

Measure up the sizes...go to a local steel workshop...they'll probably weld up the frame in gal for about $200.....

Then get some steel sheet, about 1.2mm thick, get it cut to size on a guillotine (maybe same shop), use some special metal bonding glue and your done....

Then go to the wreckers, get some bonnet hinges, and if you really want, a lock....while you are there, pick up some rear wagon gas struts....

If you can weld yourself this wouldn't cost more than $200 total...

I am going to make it from fibre glass. Ill make up a wood platform that sits just under the lip of the traysides. I think you would need 4 or 5 layers of glass if you put a steel/ally cross underneath it. Probably some rubber on the front side to seal against the cab and some racer boy bonnet pops so you can lock it. I Reckon it would work.

take it easy crew
