Would any one belive me if i was to say that i had a 1200 sedan with the bonnet flutes off an XB-XC GT falcon,You ask why?,well,dare to be different i surpose.Easily done!,Cut the standard 1200 bonnet to suite the flute section of th ford bonnent and use the ford support bars,just cut to suite.Depending on how good you are with a MIG determines how much body filler you need,AND ALSO, use bonnet pins i must stress that!, otherwise you'll find out how much fun is caused by the bonnrt ripping open and showered in glass,mind you i was dragging a early model corolla i just put twin SU's 2 weeks earlier.I was not a happy man to say the least. But i fixed it.I'll have to find the photos and show everyone:}

American Auto Parts had those as reproduction "cast" parts on special recently. I thought of doing the same, but changed my mind. I think they were like $50 / pair.

I'd love to see the photos.

Cheers,
Chris

I am currently doing this to my Sunny bonnet, here are some pics of it for you all

Open in new window

This is the begining, lots of measuring and then measuring again and then cutting.

And these two are of it almost done, just a bit more grinding to do.

By the way, this was one of the first things i ever used a welder on, not bad if i may say so.

The photos come up eventually, you just have to wait a bit.
Does anybody know what I have done wrong as to why they wont appear straight away?
Or maybe only I can see them on my computer, stupid technology
