The very fiest production AC Shelby Cobras used the 260 Ford Windsor engine. Later on they used the 289 engine. Some of these earlier cars were later refitted with the 302 Windsor by Shelby, at customers cost. The 427 side oiler NASCAR motor was used when they couldnt beat the Ferrari GT 250 in competition, so it is a later development.

A very well sorted A14 engine, with bulk boost may well give an early 260 or 289 car a run for it's money, but as for the 427,...not even if you took 2 wheels off it.
