well the 1200 went into the exhaust shop a few days ago for a 2 inch system with extractors. About 2 hours after dropping the car off i got a call from them saying the extractors are not fitting the A15 and hitting the inlet manifold. They then informed me with a small grind that they shold fit. So i said go ahead and they proceeded to take away some excess metal off the inlet manifold. Got another call a few minutes later saying that coolant was squirtin out everywhere. They cut too far. Has anyone else experienced this? JUst seems odd to me that extractors that are made to fit a A 15 dont even get around a stock inlet manifold grrrrrrr

What sort of inlet manifold are we talking about here?

A standard single carby? Twin webers? Twin SUs?

I would think in all cases thought the extractors should clear the manifold (assuming they are using the right extractors)

Yes, there's been many reports of extractors/header not fitting with stock intake manifolds. Usually jut a bit is ground off.

It's pretty close fit even with the simpler older manifolds.

A15s have coolant passages in the intake manifold.

yeah the intake manifold is just a standard one for standard single carby. i to have heard reports of people having a hard time to get ther extractors to fit, therfore shaving some metal. But seeing it to this extent, i had no idea how much had to be taken off. i am now going to have to block the passage running through the manifold. Will this make a big change in heat or fuel evapouration?
