Hi guys how does an electric Autometer speedo connect up?obviously the standard speedo cable wont work ,or will it by changing the gauge end.

Ok guys have been told that u can get a sensor that runs the same way as a satnav.Are the 180sx speedos electronic as im going to be running the Ca18det motor and 5 speed gearbox which means that I only need to run 3 wires.Whats everyones thoughts?apparently they have a sensor in the box or am I wrong?

That sounds right. Mine runs 3 wires from the gauge, down to the sender on the gearbox. We just bought the sender that suited the pulse rate of the gauge. You can calibrate them once set up on the road.

Hi Lachie do u happen to know the sender? or im just thinking the Gps unit might be easier.My speedo is the ultra-lite 260km series.

Autometer sell one. I got it from Rocket. Can't remember which one of the two it is. But it was either part number AU5292 or AU5291.

its part number au5289 gps speed interface . autometer code from rocket receipt it has three cables out of box i got one in my car now .violet cable is signal wire ,red is 12v,black is earth .

no there is a small receiver box conects to signal out put on the back of the guage (not sure if every guage has the option to run electric speedo )that goes under dash and it comes with a gps aerial its the size of a match box .best if you place on top of dash .
