Diff pinion angle

Just wondering what angle people have run there diff pinion at? For 13b with hilux.i remember some1 saying 7degress down? Also I'm running a full 4 link no leaf springs. Any help be good

what are your plans for this car? circuit or street? does your four link arms have adjustment for length? the common practice is to have the pinion angle parallel with the crankshaft this is best for uni wear ,but for a circuit car we point the pinion angle down to use the "straightening under torque characteristic" of the drive line to make the car "squat" in power down out of corners to increase drive, in the 'AUSSIE LEDGENDS" cars we would point the diff down till it would vibrate then come back a bit because the more angle we could run the better it hooked up. But every car is different and you have to find what yours likes>

It's a street car and yes all arms are adjustable.my engine building will set it up correctly I was just asking the question so I know what length round abouts my arms need to be.but I sorted it out and there is still enough adjustment to change the angle easily enough.thanks

For a street car, the pinion shaft should be exactly the same angle as the transmission shaft. Otherwise you'll get vibration and wear.
