Wildcat VS Hurricane Header: Question of Quality

Hello, I'm looking to purchase a header from AUS due to the only option I can find in the US being Bill's Datsun Shoppe and very poor quality. Chris at Best Mufflers has been very helpful and offers shipping to the US but he only carries Wildcat (WILD127, 1 3/8 primaries, 2 outlet) and three different Hurricane headers (1 1/2 primaries, 2 outlet).

This is a mild build with R1 carbs and a stock cam (eventual hot street cam) so the wildcat size would be the better option due to needing lower end power for street driving, but which is better quality? Both require cutting of the outlet to weld on either a flange or v-band and they only come with high-heat paint. The hurricane is $15 more, so price isn't a huge factor. Get the South Yokohama stainless header great quality.

For an A14/A15, get the big tube headers.

DD, the price difference is huge but probably worth it for stainless. It's ~$500 shipped for the Wildcat/hurricane headers, ~$700 + shipping for the stainless.

Do you happen to know if all of these options fit the LHD vehicles well? Are there issues with the steering box or suspension components?

I am currently leaning towards the Hurricane 1.5/2 headers since I have an A15 and I don't know the cost of shipping from south yokohama. Really not looking to spend $1k on headers for a street vehicle.

Don't know how they fit LHD. Most headers need some tweaking to install. That's why I always thought the Datsun Shopper headers were an OK deal, sure there not great fit but the price is right considering that expensive header requires customizing too.

Yea, that makes sense. My biggest issue with the datsun shoppe ones is that the merge is horrible. If you were to cut that off and make a swap to a longer merge they would be ok, but by then you are getting close to the AUS cost and the AUS ones (atleast hurricane) are made from thicker material. 1.6mm vs 1.2mm

I assume you are talking about Bills Datsun Shoppe headers besides being four into one at least the length is OK and yes the merge is rubbish but you can buy a decent merge and get it swapped on for cheap and have a decent setup, I would go that way unless you want to learn how to sand bend and make your own top notch setup( It is not that hard and makes better bends than mandrel)

Burns Stainless also does merge collectors in mild steel lot cheaper than stainless and would fit up nice on Bills pipes

I may have found a much better option stateside. The person I am talking to is trying to find his jig for the A-series, but if he finds it I will be getting the original Nismo B210 design. After coating the price is close to Bill's, but this set includes whichever flange I want welded to the outlet. 4 to 1, 1.5 primaries, 2.0 outlet.

Datsunfreak on ratsun.net is using the same headers on his 1200. I should have more info to share by the end of the week.

I realize it's almost a year later, I'm looking for the same as you Kirden so - Did you have success?
Is there another choice for my A15?
I'm running an H89 head with a pair of HIF-4 SU carbs and it all sits in an MG Midget (Soon to become an Arkley SS).

Mine came from Nissan Motorsports and was purchased from Courtesy Nissan, but was made by Kirk Racing.

I am pretty sure Kirden got one from Kirk after talking to me?
