Another weird question but I am so close to finishing this A15 swap into my midget. I have the same exhaust manifold as pictured below. I would like to plug the large threaded hole, the same one that has a pipe in the picture below. Anyone know what thread the hole is?

Oh, the EGR wiki page sez:

Quote:
Exhaust Manifold has larger EGR port, otherwise is same as 1976. Larger EGR Tube to manifold BPT valve added USA Exhaust Manifold EGR Tube inner diameter 11.8mm (8mm 1976)Manifold boss dia.: 32mm (25mm 1976)Thread size: M22 (M16 1976)

M26 x ?? What sort of plug should I use? Or should I just have it welded shut?

Hi,

I have seen these either welded shut, braise welded shut or the tube crimped shut and the pipe cut off after the crimp.

I wouldn't go through the hassle of fitting a plug as it is difficult to remove (not always) the existing. It would look much neater with a plug though.

Use an M22 or M16 metric bolt from your local hardware store.
