Clutch problems do not necessarily mean you need a new clutch. Adjusting the clutch might resolve the problem. Or other more obscure issues might be the cause.

[edit]
Noise when pedal pressed
- Worn Release Bearing
- Improperly greased release bearing or Pilot Bushing
[edit]
Noise when pedal released
- Worn Gearbox Bearing (Input Shaft Bearing)
[edit]
Clutch Won't Release Fully
Difficult to shift gears due to failure to fully release
- improper adjustment of linkage. Adjust the clutch to see if that fixes the issue.
- incorrect length of Release Bearing sleeve fitted. If you just swapped gearboxes, this is a somewhat common issue
[edit]
Grabby clutch
- Drum shoe brakes too tight, or contaminated with oil or grease. Inspect Rear Brakes and (if so equipped) Brakes#Front Drum Brakes
- Oil or grease on clutch face
- Disc rivets loose
- Poorly lubricated clutch disc splines
- warped pressure plate
- Misaligned clutch. Make sure there is no junk between gearbox
- worn clutch cable (common with RHD clutches)
- Worn lining. Replace disc
[edit]
Clutch Slips
- improper adjustment of linkage (no free play). Adjust the clutch to see if that fixes the issue.
- worn disc
