This repair kit contains hard to find parts. But only the GASKET SET is normally needed. If your carb leaks fuel into the fuel bowl (overflows) you will need new Valve assemblies. Current revision

Datsun 1200 GX used a matched pair of 38mm sidedrafts, referred to as front and rear carburetors. These are similar to S.U. brand carburetors. For more general information see Hitachi Twin Carb.

Repair Kit

This repair kit contains hard to find parts. But only the GASKET SET is normally needed. If your carb leaks fuel into the fuel bowl (overflows) you will need new Valve assemblies. For A12GX, it uses the same valve assembly as the DCG306 downdraft carburetor (two of them).

The spring determines when the max opening occurs. Ideally the piston should rise fully (maximum airflow) only at peak HP. A lighter spring (such as Datsun fitted) will allow it to open fully sooner. A heavier spring delays full opening. NOTE: For adjusting transient airflow (quick throttle openings), you can use diffrent weight damper oil.
