All A-series engines use the same Transmission Bellhousing Pattern. This means any rwd transmission, from B10 to B310, fits any A-series engine. No other Nissan engine shares this pattern. This means transmissions from Datsun 1600 or any other will not fit an A-series engine.

J/R

J-series and R-series engines used F4W63, length unknown. Bell pattern differs from L-series. Are J and R compatible?

L-Series

L-series bells are the same six-cylinder to four-cylinder

L-series will interchange with Z-series, but L has considerably more slant. Best to use the correct one.

KA has no slant

SR will interchange but has some differences

E/GA

E-series and GA-series bell patterns interchange. It is similar to the A-series and will bolt to an A12, but some of the bolts do NOT line up.

Z/VG/KA

These are all identical.

NOTE: L-series is same but slanted.

CA

CA16 uses a smaller clutch & gearbox.
CA18 & CA20 use a factory adapter plate & larger tranmission

GA is compatible with the CA bell (less adpater)
