Chris Adams' famous Lost U (10STU) Datsun 1200 is powered by a CA18DET engine.

Overview

QPDC - Gold Coast Hinterland Cruise. Saturday 29th March 2003
album

* larger turbo: GT2530 (400hp) 4 inch inlet
* CA16 cams
* 10 second 1/4-mile times
* 220 rwkw: 300hp at the wheels (~400hp at the flywheel)
* forged pistons
* rods shot-peened
* O'ringed block
* copper head gasket
* light porting

The CA16 cams give more lift and duration, means more air and fuel, more power.

 album

Still using the standard exhaust manifold but with a larger turbo and dump pipe
album

The standard CA exhaust manifold actually flows quite well and really only needs to be replaced if you are after more than 400 hp. Power in excess of that required to go a blisteringly quick 10-second run (quicker than ANY stock Ferrari or Corvette).
