 Re: Tomei valves
Was lucky to get these brand new NLA parts that were kept as spares in jap:)

These have now been fitted to head.just after nismo 1.5:1 rollers, nismo hollow lifters and just abit more porting and head is done.Engine will be coming off the coupe this week and work will commence on bottom end.also to install tomei pistons, modified crankshaft and rods etc etc that came from a race block in jap. Will get nismo head gasket when assembly of engine takes place.

head had some work done to fit these 7mm stem guides and valves due to their size.eager to see how the a12(1300cc) will perform.

how does one reply to these posts with other pics to show of update?

The 40s may require relief/flow notch in the side of the cylinder wall?

Feral used 40mm steel Inlet valves, tuliped and swirl polished, with 35mm Exhausts steel polished.

42mm valves are as big I've heard fitted to A-series cylinder head.

ddgonzal,

Yes the gx5 head had some work(notch) to fit the tomei valves.
They too are tuliped and the weight difference to the A15 valves (φ30,37) it had before was quite noticable! So some weight saved and abit more flow achieved since they are 7mm as compared to the 8mm a15 valves it had before.

"The stems have a thinner design for maximizing air flow rate within the port with the reduced air flow resistance"

If ferals valves were 7mm, did he ever mention which seals he chose?Would like to know what seals he ran.

supaffato,stock1200ute,
as for a build thread, i will try n make one for the ute.not really a build thread but more like a blog and just keep updating progress of it and progress of engine build for coupe in the same thread..might also be making a few parts for 1200s in the future with a very close mate of mine.Il update the forum if that ever takes place lol.

so im assuming the only way to post/reply with new pictures to this post is by linking a link to a picture already online..
il try and upload a pic of the tomei valves fitted under engine section.

You can get them from any race shop. Even Cometic sells 7mm valve stem seals.
