And she's wicked fast too. No, the engine swap wasn't too difficult. It came out of a 1980 HL-510 and never even hit the ground. I lifted it out and dropped it in the 1200, welded up some engine mounts, figured out a tranny mount, and started wiring and plumbing. You may notice that the radiator is moved forward a bit for clearance. That cover over the carb IS the air filter. It's made by a company called Piper Cross, out of England I believe. I wanted it for the direct inflow straight in to the carb. There is a 300ZX turbo hood scoop right above it. As for the strut bar, this one was done differently than the way I do it now. This one is made from a suspension pushrod off of a Swift DB-6 formula Continental that I cut in half and welded into a piece of conduit. There are Heim joints at both ends for adjustment. Way overkill. What I do now is cut a piece of conduit to the right length, mash the ends flat, drill holes and bolt her up. Cheap, easy and works just as well.

That is cool, I will make my own tower bar like that,I will show it once done. A pipe ,flaten both ends and bolt it in,previous "looks" red or yellow paint. Eventually I will swap an engine,I am between the CA18,the SR20,or a 13B,but later on,I want to enjoy my A15,so I am planning a single (or dual,if I can get around the brake booster problem) DCOE. hey sorry bout bringing an old post up but what power figures is that thing pumping..? have u had it dyno'd yet?
im keen to put a L20b in a 1200 ute.. and id love to have a cross flow head ( if i could find the bits id like to use a naps z head) do's any body now if getting parts 4 the naps z is hard?
