Are you sure the "splitter" or "hub" as you put it, is from a Lancer? It looks like an early corolla one.

The Connector out the top is for a "dual circuit" brake failure, it pulls to ground when one circuit fails from a leaky wheel cylinder or split hose.

You might have seen from my photos that I'm using the 180B 7/8 master cylinder. This gives nicer pedal feel, and it looks nicer. As a result, I also use the splitter from the 180B.

From my experience, it's best if you use the master cylinder and splitter from the same car. The splitter is essential if is your old Datto is a single circuit system.

dattodude not sure about that - a friend of mine grabbed it from the wreckers for me. he has the same setup in his 1200wagon so it should be good to go but ill dbl check. thanks for the pointer - last thing u want when doing something like brakes is finding something to put it all off another week...

ive since seen a pic on the net of a 1200 w/ brake booster and the same 'hub' as shown in this picture (above) not sure of setup or nething else, perhaps one of the additional unused lines into the hub are blocked (since no rear discs)..

This brake-line "splitter" in the picture (which is sitting on top of the large vacuum hose) is named the "Warning Light Switch". It has the same number of lines as the stock Datsun 1200 switch:

Brake line pressure differential Warning Light Switch

There are two inputs (front and rear from master cylinder). And three output (two for each front brake, and one for the rear brakes. The rear axle has a simple line splitter bolted to it to go to each rear brake. The electrical connector goes to the dash light.

It doesn't effect brake bias (it's not a proportioning valve) so you could use the Datsun 1200 one. But like Chris says, it might be easier to use the one that matches the cylinder. At least the input lines will match up nice.

If anyone knows, that looks like what I am after too. What is the booster off? A complete set up would be preferred, as I would need the longer pushrod too.

It says right below the photo "from L(A or B) 1974 mitsubishi lancer". Does that answer your question?
