SC14 Supercharger Lobster 2003/3/3 14:50 Tell a friend 17268 12 5.50 (2 votes)
This is the supercharger that I currently have. It is too big though. If you are an australian you can use the notes to judge the size. If you aren't australian you can use 'imagination'. I want to get the 4AGZE s/c (SC12) instead. It has a clutch in it and that will allow me to turn the s/c on and off... |

Re: SC14 Supercharger Hmm.... Just realised then, that around 6 months ago, I was meant to find out how much this would be to send to another member here...
I am so lazy... I might actually find out this week... If they still want it that is...

Re: SC14 Supercharger How much do you want for it?
I was dreaming last night, about running a supercharger and the large turbo on my CA18 machine...
I'd have to mount it aside the sump, or on top of the cam covers..unlikely..but dreams are always good. The harder part would be to design high flow butterflies (Probably use modified EFI throttle bodies with stepper motor control from ECU) to switch from supercharger to turbo. With the clutch on the S/C, I could turn of the S/C when it's not in use, or when turbo is on boost. It's probably simpler to use Nitrous down low in the rev range to get some low-down power. The problem with Nitrous is that you can't have it connected on the street..
Using the Aftermarket ECU, and using a MAP sensor, would make this easier for metering the air into the engine.
Anyone agree? Or am I on Drugs?
Cheers, Chris.

Re: SC14 Supercharger Dual-stage supercharging is certainly possible ... many WWII piston planes used it, especially bombers. Should get rid of the "turbo lag" effect.
The main problem would be where to put that huge supercharger your big CA18DET engine would need. It would be easier with an A-engine with a small turbo and small s/c.
Porsche used compound (dual-stage) turbos in the 959, then went to non-compound turbos in the newer twin-turbo cars. They say that with proper sizing and careful piping (and variable-length intake paths) the newer system works nearly as perfect as the 959 system.

Re: SC14 Supercharger OK its drag an old thread up time
I now have this unit in my possession and need a few minor details before I can fit it.
Which side is inlet and which is outlet ?
Does it matter which way up it mounts ?
Does it spin clockwise or anticlockwise ?
What are the 3 small vaccuum looking fitting coming off it for ?
Can I lock the clutch for permenant on..... how ?
Blowthru or drawthru ?
Which carb ?
Anyone got any pics of one installed ?
OK thats more than a few minor details but you can see I have no idea what I'm doing.

Re: SC14 Supercharger Go have a look at some of the pictures I took of A14force's SC A14. Bart (A14force) will be happy to answer all your questions, as I think that he used the same SC.
