after my first car got written off, I owned a few other things - twin cam TA23 Celicas, 308 HZ Statesman etc - but this was my return to 1200's. I bought it pretty much as is

are the wheels steel or alloy, cause alloy will dissapate heat easily, while steel retains it.as for the bendix ultimates, they work well on the track too,as they're what i used in the sunny at bathurst last weekend,& they didn't even look like fading,& i was slowing from about 165 k's into the left hander at the caltex chase, with a similar,if slightly slower stop from about 135 k's into murray's.

Hey there how did bathurst go?? i didnt get there obviously with work and wife comitments :) What times did you acheive?? My ca18 1200 run 29.8 on esses hillclimb and 48.7 on the caltex chase supersprint.
MY datsun is also in pieces and undergoing some suspension- rear end and braking reworking. I am currently around 90% done on mikali's 1200 ca18det conversion it is coming along nice that factory computer and wiring has been the only real headache so far.
Cheers ANdrew

Nice buy. Looks heaps clean and straight.
I think that those wheels look really good. Ok I know alot of people dont like them because they don't let your brakes cool or whatever. But hey, they DO look good and is it really that big a deal for the street?

that is pretty damn sweet, and depends how you drive, i cook my brakes regularly (meaning they go spungy and dont work as good not boiling fluid), when driving at night, and thats with stanza discs and vanette drums

some decent brake pads will go a long way to fixing that brake fade. Bendix Ultimates are pretty good for street use.
