The horn button from one of these will interchange & looks so much less unatractive.
Unfortunately this was the styling theme at the time & other models with 'sport' steering wheels had a similar horn button.

Of note is the fact that the GX steering wheel above will not fit our 1200's as it is a Sunny Excellent wheel.
I believe that the steering column spline size is the larger one that was used on the larger cars with L series engines along with the B310 Sunny.

The only difference in the wheel itself, when compared to the Sunny 1200 GX one, is in the 'boss' or adapter, onto the steering column.
Close, ... but no banana. Bummer.

That dash was used on regular Datsun 1200 B110, not just the Sunny Excellent (PB110).

This brochure shows this dash was used by 1200 models:

JDM brochure

In fact, I cannot find any Excellent-specific dashboard. This one shows the Excellent 1400s using the same dashes as the 1200s:

JDM Comparo Brochure

The photo here may indeed have come from a Sunny Excellent brochure, but the dash in common to the 1972 Minor Facelift.

 Re: Sunny Excellent
The instrument cluster & facia was shared between the PB110 & B110 models, but the crash pad differed.
Recent aquisitions here in Australia have been of the whole dash assembly & this is where the use of the Excellent name has come into play.
The facelift Sunny 1200 had a single large 'hump' over the instruments while the Excellent had two symetrical, but smaller 'humps' over the instruments & the glove box. The facelift model glove box lid was significantly different for Excellents too while the Sunny 1200 seems to have retained the previous glove box lid.

So yes, the instruments & facia were common to both, but the whole dash assembly was different.

Ah...I think I understand.

* The brochure shows a "hump" over the main gauges for both B110 and PB100.

* Is this the 2nd hump that is unique to the PB110, over the glovebox door?

That would be the one. The glove box door is unique to the PB110 also.

I learn something new here every day. I was able to find a picture and made this comparison photo:

PB110 vs B110 Comparo

The difference to the dash pad (left side) & glovebox door is clear.

There we go, a picture [or two] speaks a thousand words.
Same instruments & facia, different dash's & the PB110 has that nice symetrical look about it that just reeks of class.

This 1200 site has been going for a number of years now, yet new info is still turning up all the time, so congratulations to Dd for the Wiki project. It seems to be growing exponentionally & has become the repository of just about everything we have learned about our small Datsuns, & it's readily available for all to share, .... for free.

Like our small Datsuns, that's got to be the best automotive value in town.

Pretty damn uncommon for sure as this looks to be just the third Sunny Excellent dash to turn up in Australia.
