The Datsun symbol looks different that the other 2 GX grills I've seen. One had the 'SSS' logo, that other has the Datsun symbol in a circle which is split into 3 equal bits....if you know what I mean.
Is this a Ute GX grille?
The grille itself is a sedan or wagon part. Early 1200 utes used the same basic grille, but without some of the brightwork & a lot more paint. This was done to help keep manufacturing costs, & therefore the purchase price, as low as possible.
The emblem in the middle of the grille is correct for sedans & wagons. I think a cheaper, more plain version was used on 1970 to 73 utes, but can't be sure as a still haven't located my 1200 Ute parts fiche.
The emblem that is divided like a pie into three segments is a coupe item.
That particular GX badge is not shown in my 1200 parts book, while other GX badges are, so I presume that it is from another Datsun model. It certainly looks the part none-the-less.
