A few of us took a day trip to Suzuka Circuit to check out the track.  There was a major Bicycle Event on the Main track and a small Motorcycle event on the small track in back.
I found this fine example at the motorcycle race.

I just got back on Saturday. I went on business. I spent most of my time in and around Toyota City which is outside of Nagoya.
We had a day off on a Sunday and took a trip to Suzuka.
In the 2 weeks I was there I saw plenty of Skylines, many mini's and three 21window VW buses, but no other 1200's.
I did, however, see enough Toyota's to last me awhile.
Hey DD, how does one go about procuring an authentic Japanese license plate? Legally, of course?

I had a similar experience. Every time I heard a "hot rod" sound, it was a Skyline. I also saw plenty of old-style Minis. One B122 (on the road). But not a single Datsun.

How to get a used license plate? At a small use-car lot, I just asked. They had a box of them.

In Long Beach, of course, but its the real deal.
