The 1000 is the father of the 1200 as the 1200 was the replacement. They won their class in 67 bathurst and wiped many a mini with bigger capacity and won 68 only to b disqualified after crossing the line (reason I dont know) stats from bathurst site.
They won the Japan grand prix 1969 1,2,3 out of 65+ cars from around the world. All that with the 1000ccs oh I wished they fitted the a12, 5 speed and disk brakes on a special version. Problem was even though they still raced them until the mid seventies with the a10 still they couldnt homologate a special version cause they stopped production after 1970.
