Once again... Block was pressure and sonic tested whilst it was in this state. If this doesnt work, i give up on the A series!

 Re: New sleeve
The crack in number 1 cylinder was about an inch and a half long, stretched down to the bottom of the bore.
Everything went A ok & test's came out ticks across the board after the new sleeve was fitted, labour parts & everything inclusive added up to $225.
Ok price i spose, pretty much a new engine again after the gave each cylinder a bore/hone & cleaned out all the rusty/gunk in the coolant holes...

A15 should be back in the ute by next week.

Interesting honing job, but it might just be how the light is catching it.

 Re: New sleeve
was it machine honed ?
the cross hatching looks a little flat , but it could be the angle of the photo too

 Re: New sleeve
Everything was done by machine, well im fairly sure as thats how they described it & how it came on the recipt...

I can get a better photo if you guys want it, its just that the block is on its side atm & it was late in the arvo with 2 floodlights reflecting from 2 different angles.

Oh thought i'd get the engine in by sunday but sure enough something else happened, we had MASSIVE winds last week & my dial indicator was sitting on the bench. Sure enough it falls off & the screen cracks & the pin falls off - great $60 down the drain
Cam timings getting done today.... I hate tassie sometimes
