Re: r31 diff those rotors are cool I want some!
How much do you think it will have cost you once its under your car and all sorted? The diff under the yellow FJ20et 120Y cost like $6000 or something like that, 4.11 tight LSD.

Re: r31 diff it cost nothing to get the housing shortened, nothing apart from time cost $110 to get the one axle cut down
costs so far got open diff for free with no gears 3.7 gears were $20 on ebay $110 to get the axle shortened and resplined bout $30 to rebuild the calipers $80 to shorten and balance a stanza tailshaft when i find one then a few $$$ for pinion seal and paint
so about $250, something like $150 for a stocky LSD if i feel the need, or $80 for a spool

Re: r31 diff whos' going to shorten & balance your tailshaft for $80, mine cost $220 with new uni's, have you thought about your handbrake cables? calipers need to be the other way, so the cables go backwards, be careful as the calipers are close the inner wheel arch

Re: r31 diff some place in geelong that has i big sign on the roof saying "TAILSHAFTS", it where i got the one shortened for the L series. no new unis though
the handbrake cable is at the back of the diff isnt it? and the brake line at the front, thats how they are anyway....just looks weird in this pic
to shorten it you need to drill out the 2 welds either side that hold the axle tubes in, then have a press or something that can get inside the diff and press the tubes out (lots of pressure needed)
then cut down the long side 50mm to suit the short axle, and cut the short side down whatever is needed to get the right width the line the tubes back up, put the diff in a press.....and then 15 tonne of pressure later the tubes are back in
