Thanks andrew, As a most of you would know we all put so much time thinking about and working on our cars. With that, a fair amount of expectation of what the end product might be like.
Im building this engine to save some weight and to get the weight lower in the car. im hoping the engine with all bolt ons inc. turbo will be around 100kgs.
Im certainly looking forward to seeing it bolted to to the dyno and producing some reasonable figures. The math is there but nothing like seeing it!!

Looking at that I'd say a suzuki head of some type.

I still think it's a suzuki head.just not the right model is all.

I dont know any other engines that do port angles like that.

Sorry guys, youve all been good sports.
Its a 2005 honda blackbird xx head. (CBR1100) It had the closest credentials i was looking for. most motor bike heads have dodgy inlet port angles to fit in the frames. These are about the best i could find.
I tried heads of alot of twin cams,
The valves are a little on the small side for an A14, It should make peak power at 7500rpm instead of the bike at 9300rpm.
With the compulsary 36mm turbo inlet restrictor the power will fall of steeply from about 8300rpm.

All the original holes in the block were filled and the block deck modified before drilling and tapping new holes in the block to suit the head. none of the original holes lined up.

For IPRA, the block must be of the same manufacturer as the car (and the same # of cylinders).

A series block with a rather nice looking head setup. Going from the pics posted so far this car is going to be one tough bit of gear. Keep up the good work
Cheers Andrew

Re: ipra coupe bits & pieces
Its an engineering nightmare!!
Now being twincam the standard cam and therefore oil pump drive is gone so a dry sump system has to be used.
The standard water pump in the way of timing chain so im using (at this stage) a magna pump.
All head stud holes were moved in the block.
Oil drains from the head will be external.
Oil feed goes in to the side of the head.

The list goes on and on and on...
A very expesive way to buid a motor

Very nice work! I'm envious!! I am curious to know why you chose to use the A14 block though. Wouldn't it be far easier to bolt in a CA18 or CA20 ?? Is far as I know, IPRA allows the use of CA's, FJ's and SR's and it is a <2000cc class isn't it ???

Re: ipra coupe bits & pieces
Hi, it would have been much easyer to use a CA or SR but i will save about 20 kg`s of engine weight using the A series.

IPRA regs enforce the use of a 36mm turbo intake resrictor which sets the max HP. (about 330) a larger engine aka SR will make more low down torque this also means you have to run heavier gearbox`s and diffs all of which adds weight to the car..
An SR with restrictor will make max hp at about 5800rpm where the A14 will make max hp at about 8200rpm allowing me to use a lower diff gear that will get the torque back..

So, a lighter car with the same torque at the treads!!

Thats my theory anyway...
