I have a question, how would you go cutting the lower part of the guard for the flare, should I follow the black marker line on the guard?

Sorry should be clearer, got a airhacksaw to use so thats no worries.

Im after opinions on how I should shape the guard at the bottom, should I leave the extension of the sill panel as is OR follow the black line OR anyone else got a pic of a front guard without flare?

Found what im looking for, this is how L18_b110 trimmed up his front guards. This will have to be the best way to go.

I would suggest leaving yourself a little bit extra so you can bend it up to make the edge a little stronger, otherwise you may find it will be a tad flimsy.

Yeah I'll leave an extra 10mm or so and fold it back as original, then on the arched part I will fold the 10mm completely back on itself.

Tomorow will be a busy day!

i know that these flares are "ebay specials", i just want to know if these are flares for a 1200 or if they are just a standard flare that will fit other datsuns aswell?

Re: Trimming front gaurd for flare
The flares I did get off ebay but they arent the 120fly jobbies. They were on a 1600 hence the green paint, the fronts have been done properly with metal removed from underneith the flare.

The rears I have pumped the metal as much as possible and the fibreglass flare (or over-flare in this instance) sits on top to keep the same style as the front.

I removed the bump on the inside arch of sedans so that there is proper clearance.

Now I need to install my Ke55 diff which will give me a lot more rear track and wind those adj lower control arms out to fill those flares!!

Look ere'

Re: Trimming front gaurd for flare
ive been doing my rears over the past couple of days, the fronts were easy, i cut about 2 inches out around the wheel arch and then bent about 10mm at right angles to keep a bit of the strength.
with the rears, i cut the outer guard away to my desired amount, then straightened out the inner guard and cut some slots in it to make it easier to bend outwards.
then it was just a matter of slowly welding the inner to the outer, trim off the excess, and bobs your uncle. this was to fit 120fly flares.
unfortunatly i cant take pics due to lack of camers.
