Simple car, but goes good. Uses simple ideas to make great package.

Man, you would never see open wheelers on the track with tin tops in Australia. Even on practise days we have to run at different times.

Yes I cringe at the thought of an accident between the big saloons and the open wheelers too. A few years back at a Whittakers meeting a Series 4 Lotus 7 stalled on the start and was Liberachied (rearended) by a Jag XJS, luckily the Lotus driver wasn't hurt but it could have been very ugly

I thought that this picture was so good that it was worth showing again.

A bloody good looking 1200, & a humble, family model four door at that, leads all the high priced exotica through the turn. I only hope it stayed that way.
[don't tell me if he lost the lead, my fantasy would be crushed]

I have to agree it is a good pic. I am lucky to have a Team Datsun shirt from the owner /driver of this car which features this shot printed on the back. It is one of my favorite shirts.

Was it a professional photo? The composition looks too good for a happy snap with the subject car in clear focus, positioned prominently, but just a litte off center. This gives us a better look at the wannabee's in soft focus behind. It looks like it was shot with a reasonably long lens so that the depth of field could be compressed for an even more dramatic image. These action shots are are also best captured with a motor drive camera, so i'm guessing it probably was a professional job.

I gotta tell you it's an inspiring image & it makes me want to rush righ out to Wakefield park with a suitably prepared 1000 coupe & conquer all.
Tell him that i loved the colour too.

Thanks Wayne. Yeh Stew Wood took this photo at one of the Whitakkers meetings. Car has since had a A15 which did a 1.25.05 in March this year. Ha a small bearing failure and have now built a A14 with a lightened crank (1.5-2kg turned off it), but are still waiting to put back together. Too busy....

If that photo is a fair representation of how this car performs, then you make us all proud. More power to you.

I wish I'd had a camera with me the last time we were at Manfield

HE1278

Can you please tell me what have you done or are planning to do to the A14?
I am very curious.
