I replaced the first rubber, and after two turns around the block it ripped the new one clean off too. I then took the two rubbers put one each side of the x-member and made the washer on the bottom. I first tried a different bolt, but it turned out to be to long to start compressing the two rubbers, and the only thing I could find, was an A12 head bolt if you would believe me! It was from the original engine, I left one box with some parts when the guy came to buy it. I have driven it with vigor since this change, and I'll eat my air filter if it manages to break this setup...

When I modified my crossmember, I made my plates on a 30

I realized why standard mountings work like that when it broke the first one of However, it has no chance now. Does anyone know what the tensile strength of an A12 head bolt is?
