I have never replaced one of these before.

Could somebody explain to me what the seal is for and why does there not seem to be any place on the tentioner for the spring.

Is replaceing a chain not supposed to be easier than replacing a cam belt.

The seal goes into the front cover and the spring goes inside the tensioner.
