the laws over here wouldn't allow it mate, as it is increasing the track of the vehicle too far. it's all in the NCOP pages from the national vehicle gov department.
If you actually take the time to read the guidelines clearly. You can infact legally do many things that internet forums often state you can not legally do.
Example Page 38 " Track"If you fit another assembly, the track width will now go off the particular assembly and its original manufacture specified track.
However if you simply fit a wider diff like above it will still be illegal unless the tyres tread is covered.
Every modification that you do to a vehicle, will also lead to numerous other design rules being required to be implimented.
Wheel Track design rules are there to simply prevent stupid modifications like, wide wheels and silly offsets being fitted to hubs and bearings that will eventually fail as a result of various loads on an undersized component.
