Dear Harry

Best Looking 1200 I have ever seen even out of 2000 pictures of Datsuns I have, there's none with the style of yours. I'll drink to yours truly and down another beer. Congrats.

Allan

 Re: 2003 QHC
thanks B120dat. I have put lots of effort into the car over the years. The difference the flares and wheels made to it's appearance is just incredible.

It was alot of hard work and late nights last week to get it ready, but definitely worth it. It has also made the car much more stable, which should translate into better times on the track.

I got the wheels secondhand and wasn't real sure about the white centres until I put one on the car when I got them home, and I'm very glad I left them that way. It's like a whole new car!

Where can I get the flares, rear spoiler and front splitter from? I would really like to have them on my car for club racing....

If these flares fit utes too I'd really like up close of the rears. I've been searching here for good flares and most are too radical. Also, how much extra width do you get? I just bought new wheels and tires (pics to come soon) and I think I'm in need of about 5mm flares as these will match the new wheels and keep everything legal at the same time.

Wow! Thanks D! I've gotta admit, I go straight to the shed when I get home, and sit there with the dog for a few minutes and just drool at the car... I'm sure it will wear off - remember I only finished it on Friday afternoon.

I owe a big thanks to Steve Draheim who makes all the fibreglass spoilers and flares. He's really done a great job of them - they fit great. And for the hours he spent welding up the wheelarches so I could get out there last weekend.

They'll fit all 1200's including utes, but obviously fitting to the rear flares to the 4 door models will involve a bit more messing around. Steve races an insanely fast 1200 coupe Improved Production car (CA18DET), so these parts are made to suit those rules. The flares are 2" wide - maximum permitted under the rules.

Anyone interested in buying any of the fibrglass bits, please PM or email me and I'll pass your details onto Steve.

Drooling at your loved one doesnt wear off when it comes to a car
Even though mines far from finished I still look at the lines and keep moving round to see the best angle.
Harry do you know where we can view the details of Improved production series??
Im surprised a turbo ca18 is allowed in such a class i thought such cars were just relegated to super sprints. Is there somewhere I can get what the restrictions are for a datsun 1000?

here a link to the 3J Improved Production regs. Basically, you can use any engine block (as long as it's still in-line 4cyl) from the same manufacturer available in a local car.

That race coupe is the most beautiful saloon racing car I have seen! Everyone is right, those fibreglass flares and spoilers fit the car perfectly. If I was going to race my coupe I would have to copy your example - its great! Your pic coming over that hill sideways was cool too. Keep up the good work and enjoy it!
