The original Datsun 1200 battery is a large full-size unit (Group 24 fits perfectly).

This new one I got is Group 26, a lot lighter and more powerful than the original specification. But it doesn't fit very well using the original hold-down as you can see in the photo -- it is about an inch less tall, and 2 inches less across.

Group 24: 9.87 in Tall, 6.75 wide, 10.87 long
Group 26: 7.81 in Tall, 6.75 wide, 8.75 long
