My right drive Datsun 1200 parts book says that the two part numbers for this item are as follows.

24420- 20901 Frame, battery fix.
24420- J0600 Frame, battery fix. Op.

It would seem by the more square shape that there was a larger, heavy duty battery option for the 1200 & with the 'J' code in the part number, this piece was probably sourced from the parts bins of a larger, but probably contemporary model of Datsun/Sunny.

Ah, got it. USA models only used the larger for both standard and optional battery.

Applied model code "J06" is for 1971 L140 model, whatever that was.

I have the same # on mine, but thought the original had offset rods on the front and back side but the more I thought about it
that could have been my 510 (1600)
The catalouge also lists a 24420-21401 as an old/alternate part #
