This is not just a isolated piece of road in the pics.
Mostly all of our roads in Freestate - South Africa look like this.

I've seen worse in USA Highway system, but it is rare -- and the ones in your photo are pretty bad. The potholes in the middle don't surprise me but the cutaways on the edge of the road are unexpected. I wouldn't want to drive on that road.


I see the new bakkies still use the same Datsun 1200 defrost finishing garnish -- it's right there in your photo. What year is your 1400?

Yeah Oz has some fair crap roads, there's one near my place that has a heaps of good bitumen, just that land is always slipping below it, you near get launched out the window doing anything over 50kmh... but the southern end has an awesome windy thin steep section... fun... and in good nick...
