Re: LHS engine Unlike the A series Datsun engine, the engine mounts are attached to the plate that bolts to the front of the block. The cam is on this side which is why the fuel pump is on this side too. Against all rhyme & reason, the ports snake their way back through the pushrods to come out this side. Only the Brits could think of a reason why.
If you look under the exhaust manifold [?] you can see the bulge in the pan rail to clear the oil pump which is of the internal submerged type. Nothing like an A series which has an external one, mounted front right of the block
