neither of the 3 ive possesed have had that flat bit either. isnt it for a standard intake manifold to bolt to just below the carby?

Being a duel outlet manifold it looks like it meets the criteria of the GX manifold.
I would be only guessing that it was offerred on the A14 GX [a late model one at that] as part of the ever increasing need for better emissions.

or

Alternatively offerred on the B310 with the EFI induction. maybe. can anyone confirm...

A14T Twin Carb engine had a single-outlet manifold.

The one in the piccy is one of the following:
- A10 Coupe engine
- A12GX engine
- A12T engine
- A14E/A15E engine (EFI engine)
Not sure which one. Does it have H23 cast into it?

Details: Hitachi Twin Carb

Ok I have thought about it some more. I'm going to go with the KB10 A10 engine. duel outlet exhaust with hotbox setion for a single carb. Does anyone agree?

I think you are right. The twin-carb manifolds and the EFI manifolds don't connect to the intake at all.

The manifold has "Japan 257" embossed in it. It really has got me stumped!

Adam.

Get the tape measure out and measure the gaps between the exhaust ports. Surely that will make certain if it is A or L series.

Ive had enough A series stuff to know that its not L series, but Ive never seen a twin exit manifold like this before, thus asking the question.

Cheers. Adam.

Oh yes they did.

This manifold was used only on the A10 engine that was fitted to the Datsun/Sunny 1000 Coupe, .... the legendary KB10.
If you are going to run a single carb manifold on a round port 1200 or A12 then this is the exhaust manifold to have.

Just another reason why everyone is saying......................
KB10, It's no ordinary car.

This is a 1200 GX exhaust manifold. The A12/120Y GX manifold is the same.

Adam! that manifold in the above picture is a KB10 manifold. its suited to a round intake port head. This is found on a 1000 coupe or KB10 (from my experience)

The one Dodgeman posted a pic up of is a GX manifold! suited to oval intake port heads and found on GX's.
