I see no difference in the casting, but the right-hand block doesn't have a water jacket or a breather pipe and there's also no studs (two) at the rear of the block. Do I win anything?

looks like a pretty big difference in the casting at the right-hand rear of the block where it meets the bellhousing, but yeah buggered if I could find 6 differences?

Re: A14 vs. A15 block comparo
I had an A14 and A15 block, both stripped bare sitting on a bench at work today and could only really see a few small casting differences, nothing too obvious though. I doubt there would be six major differences between the two.

I have one of each at the workshop. Next time I'm over there, I'll take a picture with a tapemeasure across the pan rails. (If I remember! lol)

Thanks. Look forward to measurements. I expect the outside of rails is same, but inside is a couple mm different. If that's all the difference is, one could easily modify the A14 block with a grinder to match. More important is the oil pump pickup location being moved.

Re: A14 vs. A15 block comparo
I'm not entirely convinced that the pickup has been moved. It's not really possible to tell from these two pictures, but by placing a bolt in the first & third pan rail bolt holes & running a string between them a better idea of the juxtaposition between the oil pickup mounting points & the pan rail can be determined.

A few measurements from hole to hole will also reveal the truth.
