this is a 1200 coupe owned by someone i knew called david begg.the car is coming through the tunnel of love corner at catalina park.the car had an injected a12 when i last saw it,with motorbike throttle bodies on a fabricated manifold.i have seen this car on 2 wheels in the torrential rain, but the real kicker was the ke30 corolla doing the same right behind him(like 2 inches behind him).they both spun at the next corner(the dogleg at oran park).this car was registered bee-110.

hey olboy,is you'res the 1200 sports sedan with the number 345?been a while since i've been to catalina,so my bad.i actually got 5th outright at a southern sporting car club sprint there, but still came second in class.catalina was a real ball tearer of a track, but too many people wanted to walk the dog there on a sunday morning.i got this picture off the toyosports site,& there are some more catalina photos there if anyone wants to look (www.toyosports.org).

sorry b310gx but that is craven A corner not the tunnel of love. The tunnel of love is at the other end of the track. It's a shame its not used anymore I raced there several times I think I was there the last time it was used . it was a thornlie car club supersprint and a dill in an lc torana put a hole in the fence at the very point that this picture was taken
it was a magic place It realy suited the little datto. If you wern't there then you missed out

This is one track i always wanted to drive on.........i've been there lots of times, but never had the opportunity to have a drive.
As far as i know this track has been closed for good. The last time i heard it was open was for "Toyosports" car club a couple of years ago for their annual club car day at Catalina.........I guess, not any more.

Yeah i know i've only ever walked the track, and always wanted to race it. I guess the hippy's in the mountains thought weber grump would wreck their tranquility.
