 Re: Forklift manifold
Those manifolds look scary. What kind of performance can you get out of that. Sure it is a forklift, no high RPM, but, no excuse, "F" grade in design. That must have been Fred Flinstone's A -12( "minus12" engine) engine's manifold.

there is no performance in them the carb througt is only 4 cm diameter they rev to about 3000 rpm (petrol motor) and thats about it

These forklift engines are designed to do something your engine cannot do. Run at full load all the time for years. To do so, they are specially built and tuned for low power, high torque output.

Did anyone else notice the manifold goes UP? It wouldn't fit in a car ...

I think it would clear the hood 'cause it wouldn't be much taller than the valve cover. Less heat soak into the intake manifold as well. Once you mount a turbo on it you'd have to cut a hole in your firewall to fit it though!

 Re: Forklift manifold
the manifold dumps to the front of the engine towards the radiator. It does fit easily on a 1200, clears the bonnet, with room to spare.
No need to cut the firewall.

 Re: Forklift manifold
forklifts last for ages i will see if we have any of these manifolds left at work my old man owns a forklift company i think it would be a better idea to make up a custom manifold

This manifold is off an A15 forklift there was never an A12 forklift made

 Re: Forklift manifold
So hood clearance would be a problem then huh? I thought the manifold went up over the intake then down.

 Re: Forklift manifold
Guess I was looking at it all backward... looking at a pic of another one on this site looks like it would fit under the hood but this one looks longer for some reason.

Here's a photo showing how the exhaust pipe is located in a Nissan forklift:

Here's a different forklift manifold (this one sweeps down):
