Hmm, what's the point in moving the injectors?

factory injector placement is designed primarily for emissions and fuel economy. Moving them further away from the port can improve power by wetting the manifold walls and cooling the manifold and inlet charge. that's the theory at least.

These are also top feed. If CA are the same as SR (I know they're not the same but if they're the same type) they're originally side feed.

No..CA18DE/Ts are top feed.

You get the best fuel burn if the injectors
are pointing straight at the intake valves.

Although the wetting/cooling theory probably has some merit (I can't refute it anyway)

My guess is that this custom setup mimics the Greddy SR20DET manifolds that allow 2 injectors per cylinder for high horsepower engines.

What if a car's A/C (or similar effect) cooled a H2O jacketed intake maifold. I'm not familar with injectors and such, but people keep talking about "colder air = power".

There are drag cars that run on a similar theory, except using dry ice as it doesn't rob any engine power...

Rotomaster have spent alot on this theory i beleive??

 Re: CA18DET Modified EFI Manifold
finally figured out what's going on: on seriously high horsepower ca18det (or sr20det, etc.) the original injectors are retained for driveability and the secondary injectors are for higher rpms and fuel delivery
