Shamelessly lifted from the Datrats website, this one is described as .....
"The PB110 L twin cam 4V mechanical FI engine."
Note the angle of the intake trumpets.

It seems to match the brochure.

For more details on LZ14, LZ16 and LZ20B engines, see datsun1200.com wiki article LZ engine

Loved this one. I can see the US flag, the British Union Jack, the New Zealand flag, the Japanese flag & good old JAF to provide racers tracksideside assistance in the event of breakdown. [members only?]

It looks like the Kiwi's were right in there with international competition back then.

Go the JAF service van. [I hope it was a Sunny van.]

Notice the engine peeking out of the car in the upper left.

Perhaps with LZ engine? Look at carburetor bells on the right side of car.
the Brochure
The brochure is dated one week after the LZ14 introduction date.

I have noticed it now & I suspect that you might be right.

Blowing the opposition into the weeds within a week of the introduction of a new engine is sure to get their attention pretty smartly. All racers, particularly at this level, know that competiton only improves the breed & if it's a winner at birth, then what's in store once it's properly sorted.

EDIT
With reference to the carburettor bellmouths that I thought might be injection stacks in another thread, this article on Ferals website may shed some additional light on the subject.
