Here are a couple of hubs, the shallow one is from a Nissan Nomad (year 86' or later with vented 250mm disks) and the taller one is from my girlock callipered Stanza strut.

I've measured this against a Vanette hub and they are identical with a hieght of 34mm from face to mounting tab. The Nomad unit has a height of 24mm from face to mounting tab.

hmmm from the way i understand this it doesnt help much does it?

this would require higher positive offset wheels? most wheels are closer to zero offset

This isn't about the wheel it's about the disk bolted to the back. Using the Stanza hub with the Nomad disk allows the nomad caliper to line up nicely.

But yeah it's pretty square when you put it all together, it did however fit inside my 13' hustler without fouling which is what I was aiming for.

I'm not going to say it's 100% yet cos I need to get some other bolts to hold the calliper on (needs more thread or drill out the thread on the strut, I'd rather not do that)

Yeah I had a play around with that but they're not wide enough to fit the vented disk properly. Plus if it can stop a van with a top speed (speedo optimistic nooo!) of 160kph than it should stop a lighter datto better.

That's what got me playing around with this stuff. I borrowed a hilux calliper off my friend but it's the crummy one for the solid disk models. To mount that to the strut you would need to machine a couple of mill off the calliper mounting face. But logic has prevailed, why would I need 4 spots on a thin as disk? they'd probly want to warp the rotor in an angry fit

I was quite happy reading about your setup. both callipers should have the same bolt spacing, I'll check them out tomorro

Funny thing happened yesterday, I put the nomad rotors and calipers on my bluebird struts and they fit better... Need the caliper spaced out 7mm and the dust shield flattened a bit. I'll put pics up later
