I know it's "GX" but I'd prefer a 1000 one as it has less of the press'd in sqares...

i want the gx one purely because its gx and i am building a gx a10 alls i need is a rocker cover such as this one with the throttle thingy in the middle then i shall have a full gx motor apart from the dizzy

Yours are different. Look at where the choke-cable bracket (on top) is located.

Can't find any casting number, just has japan nissan on it.

Was told it was a GX but don't know now, will install anyway.

dd have a look at one of his photos of the rocker covers it shows the head but you cant clearly see the water gallery hole which is another indicator

yep gx head for sure
no head numbers
large ports
large water galleries
closed chambers
early stud pattern drilling to pretty much sums it up
this head is of the gx variety
