Not round port. They oval ports, so wide they look almost round. They are much bigger the GX ports.

So they have been ported? It looks like there is alot more meat downward too.

Is this yours DD?

Nah, this is for sale on Yahoo Auctions right now. Notice the raised area on the top of the heard (slight bump above the port, not the sharp bump behind the bolt hole)

Yes indeed,

It looks like there is more than enough meat below the ports to accomodate even more porting.

Awesome head.

So who will bid on this pup? Very kind of you to post such an item regardless of the possible 'competition' you may have introduced for yourself (if you were bidding!).

I have one of these.

 Re: Raised Port Head
About $800 USD -- and I think it says there is a leak from the cooling passage due to porting mistake. Although maybe it's saying testing confirmed "no leak". Not sure.

Phwaughh, if they over ported then that's a big bummer.

"Dammit Frank I told you to control your twitches, now look what you've done!"

Ahh well. It's a little difficult to tell but are the ports slightly offset? They are very wide, but one side looks like it has copped a little more porting (the right hand port).

 Re: Raised Port Head
is the advantage just room for additional porting?

and how do you get a manifold to suit, many wouldnt work at all with these ports would they? does this commit you to custom intake manifold

 Re: Raised Port Head
There would be a more gradual turn into the cylinder witch would be goo for high RPM horses. and I'd emagine you'd need the original manifold or hav one made!

 Re: Raised Port Head
I would expect the studs placements to be consistent with the other head. But whether the manifold could accommodate taller porting work would be another question. The bprojects manifolds have a decent amount of 'wall/excess/flesh' that could handle some big time porting (Mike?).
